Broadcast Engineer

Barry PowellBarry Powell has over thirty-five years of experience in the Audio/Visual and Broadcast industry.  His experience includes numerous design and integration projects of Audio-Visual and Broadcast Television Systems. Barry received his electronic education while in the United States Navy.  After the Navy, he worked along-side his father designing and integrating Audio/Visual Systems and college-level broadcast studios.  In 1986 Barry moved to Tampa Bay and worked for Audio Visual Innovations, Professional Communications Systems, The Whitlock Group and the Tampa Educational Cable Consortium.  As the Assistant Chief Engineer of WTVT FOX13 in Tampa, Barry designed, documented and supervised the complete broadcast transition to HD Television at WTVT, replacing all systems at the station between 2007 and 2013.   Barry designed and supervised the FOX13 fiber interconnected studio for the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa. Most recently, as the Audio-Visual Project Manager for APG Electric A/V Department, Barry designed and supervised the audio/video upgrade of the Hillsborough County Boardroom Studio in Tampa, Raymond James Stadium Satellite Headend, RF Distribution and Monitor Display Control Systems, Florida Polytechnic University Electronic Classrooms and Auditorium Control Systems, and the Expedia Training Centers in Miami and Orlando/Sanford.
